OTTAWA, Kan. – The (19) Ottawa University softball team defeated the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy 11-0 in five innings on Monday afternoon.
Ottawa took the lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Riley Newbold walked, and
Katie Enneking reached first due to catcher's interference. Those two moved to second and third on a sacrifice bunt by
Allison Kearney.
Madison Bunfill scored both with a home run to left and OU had a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Braves scored six runs on six hits and one error. Kearney hit a two run home run over the center field fence and OU had a 9-0 lead. After a scoreless bottom of the third, Ottawa scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Kara Hafenstine walked and
Kelcie Kippes scored her with a home run over the center field fence to give the Braves the lead and the game, 11-0.
