Ottawa, Kan. - The Ottawa lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance as they defeated Drury University with a resounding 20-1 Senior Day victory on Saturday evening at AdventHealth Field.

From the very beginning, Ottawa set the tone of the game with a relentless offensive attack led by
Mackenzie Simmons, who scored the first goal just 14 seconds into the game. Simmons continued her dominance throughout the game, finishing with a total of 11 goals and three assists, set the OU single-game points record (14) and surpassing 100 career goals in the process.
Cecily Anderson also had a standout performance with 3 goals and 1 assist, while
Shannon Carroll and
Meagan Gilstrap contributed with 2 goals each.
The Ottawa lacrosse team showcased their offensive depth and teamwork with multiple other players contributing to the scoreline.
Ashley Santillan,
Isabella Pagliei, and
Faith Ruoff also added to the goal tally, displaying the team's offensive diversity and versatility.
The Ottawa defense was equally impressive, stifling the Drury University offense and limiting them to just one goal in the game. Goalies

Kyle Beard praised his team's performance, stating, "I am incredibly proud of the effort and determination this team has shown all season. Today was just a great way to send our seniors out on a high note in their last regular season home game."
With this victory, Ottawa improved their overall record to 5-4, with a 1-1 conference record. They close out the season with two games on the road, against Midland on Monday and Saint Mary on Friday in the regular season finale
