SHAWNEE, Kan. – The (RV) Ottawa University beach volleyball team competed in a pairs event with Johnson County Community College on Tuesday afternoon at Shawnee Mission Beach.
Kira Cherry and
Grace Davis won their first match of the day 21-7, 21-17. They fell in match no. 2 22-20, 21-17.
Kennedy Krokroskia and
Loraine Ruiz won both of their matches, taking a 21-9, 21-11 victory in match no. 1 and 21-11, 21-11 in match no. 2.
Carson Schuman and Radaisy Valdez went 2-0 on the day. They won match no. 1 21-11, 21-11 and took match no. 2 21-2, 21-3.
Madison Brauner and
Bailee Nickel took a 21-11, 21-8 victory in match no. 1. The duo won match no. 2 21-9, 21-16.
Ottawa will now compete in the AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball Championships in Tavares, Fla. The Braves will play the University of Mobile at 7:00 a.m. (cst) and Warner University at 9:10 a.m. (cst) on Friday, April 12.
