Aligned with the NAIA policy regarding tobacco use, the use of tobacco products is prohibited by all game
personnel (e.g. coaches, student-athletes, athletic trainers, managers) in all sports during practice and competition. A student-athlete who violates this tobacco policy will receive an official written warning from the Athletic Department. A second offense in regards to tobacco use will be considered a first violation by the Athletic Department pursuant to this policy and sanctions will be enforced as outlined in this policy.
The use of alcohol, tobacco or tobacco products is not permitted by participants, coaches, cheerleaders, trainers, game administrators, or officials in the playing areas during all NAIA-sanctioned competition and practices for such competition. The institution’s coaching staff, event games committee, sport manager or host site coordinator (as applicable) shall enforce this policy through the following steps.
• On the first offense, the individual(s) and entire team shall receive an official warning.
• A second offense will cause expulsion from the practice, game, tournament or event.
