Colton Bieker

Coach Bieker is in his second season as a graduate assistant with the OU Athletic Performance program.

Before joining the staff at Ottawa University, Bieker worked at Newman Therapy Services where he started as a Therapy Aide but then was promoted to Lead Therapy Aide in the spring of 2022.

As a therapy aide, he assisted physical therapists through hands-on support and cleaning facilities and equipment. Once promoted to Lead Therapy Aide, Bieker created the work schedules for fellow therapy aides, did office work, patient scheduling, and provided overall oversight of all other therapy aides.

Bieker spent the 2022-23 season as an intern with the Emporia State Strength and Conditioning program. He worked with the ESU men’s basketball and women’s volleyball programs.

While at ESU, Bieker was a personal trainer at the ESU Student Recreation Center and completed internships at Newman Therapy Services. He also planned, marketed, and implemented Laps 4 Landon. This was a community event to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the spring of 2022. Bieker also facilitated a youth-oriented Health Fair for students at Walnut Elementary School in the spring of 2022 and presented a “Lunch & Learn” on How Sweet It Is for USD 253 wellness program participants in the fall of 2021. He conducted fitness assessments for diverse populations in the spring of 2021 and created and assembled a wellness bulletin board over health snacking in the fall of 2020.

Bieker is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and was a student member of the Health and Human Performance Club at ESU.

Bieker graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in health and human performance in December 2022. He is working on his masters in education with a concentration in curriculum and instruction from Ottawa University.
