Coach Wright is in his first season as an assistant coach with the OU men's wresling program after spending the 2023-24 season as a graduate assistant.
Wright was a four year wrestling letterman for the Braves. He was the KCAC Champion at 141 pounds in 2020-21 and a three-time All-KCAC performer.
He finished his career with a record of 85-38, a dual mark of 28-7, and 22 career falls and technical falls.
While attending Ottawa University, Wright was a wrestling camp clinician at Gardner Edgerton High School, did a physical therapy internship with SERC Physical Therapy, and was a senior life guard at Sports Facility Management.
Wright graduated from Ottawa University in May of 2023 with degree in exercise science. He was on the Dean’s List in 2020 and 2023 and on the Dean’s Honor Roll in 2019, 2021, and 2022. Wright was Ottawa’s KCAC Champion of Character Award winner and was named OU’s 2022 Homecoming King.
He is working on his masters in leadership from Ottawa University.
