Shane Alford is a certified Physician Assistant who has been practicing since 2009 and specializes in sports medicine and orthopedics.
Alford grew up in Ulysses, Kansas where he participated in football, wrestling, and track. Â Alford completed his undergraduate degree from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. where he was an All-KCAC selection at linebacker and javelin thrower.
After graduating in 2001, Alford enlisted in the Army Reserves and attended the Operating Room Specialist 91 D course at FT Sam Houston TX. Following graduation, he was deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan from March 2004 to March 2005.
Alford returned and attended Wichita State University to earn his Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2009. Upon completion of Physician Assistant school, he was transferred to the Kansas Army National Guard where he currently serves for the 130th Field Artillery Brigade out of Manhattan, Kan. and holds the rank of Major.
Alford is married to Jenny, and they reside in Lawrence, Kan. with their five children Eirik (12), Orry (10), Finn (8), Anni (6), and Hanna (6). He enjoys watching sports, working out, and spending time with his family and attending their extracurricular activities.
