Coach Blades is in his first season as a graduate assistant coach with the OU men’s volleyball program.
Blades comes to Ottawa University from Siena Heights University where he was a member of the SHU men’s volleyball team. After he finished playing, Blades was a volunteer graduate assistant with the men’s volleyball team in 2023. He was also active in the community and volunteered with Share the Warmth, was an active shooter training volunteer, and was a Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados volunteer.
Blades played for the Barbados’ Youth, Junior and U21 National Teams. He was also part of Springfield College’s NCAA III Championship Team in 2018.
Blades graduated with a degree in business administration from Siena Heights University in May 2022. He also earned a masters of clinical mental health counseling at SHU in May 2023. Blades is working on his MBA with a concentration in human resources from Ottawa University.
