Bowling to Compete at NAIA West Tournaments

Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa bowling teams continue their seasons as they compete at the NAIA West tournaments in Lawrence.
- The teams are coming off a pair of tournaments in Belton, Missouri, last weekend.
- The men finished tenth in the Eagle Invitational I on Saturday, then earned their first win of the season on Sunday at the Eagle Invitational II.
- The women earned their fifth top-five finish with a fourth place showing at the Eagle Invitational I, then topped that with a victory in the Eagle Invitational II, also their first win of the season.
- The tournament consists of five team games for the NAIA West I on Saturday, then 25 baker games in the NAIA West II on Sunday. This format is identical to last weekend's tournaments.
- Royal Crest Lanes, the site for the varsity tournaments, is one that the Braves are familiar with. They have bowled at least one tournament in the center since the program's inception in 2017, and twice each season since the 2020-21 season. In addition, Ottawa previously called the center home.
- The Braves' first appearance in Lawrence this season came in October at the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge.
- In that tournament, the men, bowling in Topeka, qualified fourth for the matchplay bracket with a total of 7,844 pins. There, they beat Missouri Valley 2-1 in the quarterfinals before falling to eventual tournament champions Wichita State 1.5-2.5 in the semifinals. Individually, Joseph Enderle finished 21st with 994 pins for five games, and Matthew Berg finished 24th with 986 pins for five games.
- The women qualified second for the matchplay bracket with a total of 7,309 pins, qualifying them in the bracket for second place. They fell 1-2 to Columbia in the quarterfinals. Holly Bridges made the All-Tournament Team in second place with a 976 pinfall for five games.
- Three Braves, all on the women's side, have made All-Tournament Teams in Lawrence. Jadyn Barr did so twice, both in the 2022-23 season. She won the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge that season. Holly Bridges has three ATT appearances in her last three weekends in Lawrence. Allie Williams made the All-Tournament team at NAIA West I last season.
