High School:Taylor lettered in basketball and track at Mannford High School. He played in the Tulsa 7 All-Star Game twice, was a three time All-Conference selection, earned MVP honors at the Stroud Tournament and was a two time MVP at the Nowata Tournament. Taylor earned Tulsa World Honorable Mention honors and was an Oklahoma Native Honorable Mention selection.
