WICHITA, Kan. — The 2025 KCAC Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll has been released the conference office announced on Friday morning. Ottawa University was selected to tie for third with Avila University.
The Braves are coming off a season where they finished 40-18 overall and 20-6 in the KCAC. OU qualified for its fourth straight NAIA Opening Round, sixth overall.
"Preseason polls are a reflection of the past and aren't an accurate representation of the present," said OU head softball coach
Maile Deutsch."We have a very talented group of athletes who are eager to perform. I have no doubt that they will accomplish great things, while making a name for themselves in the glory of God. We will continue to work hard and take care of business in the spring."
Evangel University earned the top spot in the 2025 KCAC Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference office announced Friday. The Valor took home 12 (out of a possible 13) first-place votes. In the 2024 season, Evangel took home the KCAC regular-season title with a 22-4 record in conference play, and then went on to also earn the KCAC Softball Championship Tournament title.
Rounding out the top five of the preseason poll were Friends University at No. 2 (receiving the final first-place vote), Avila University and Ottawa University tied at No. 3, and the University of Saint Mary at No. 5.
