OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University softball program is pleased to announce the signing of Amaya Truell for the 2025 season. She is from Commerce, Texas and attended Commerce High School.

Truell has only been playing softball for a year but is very passionate about the sport. She loves to go to art museums, watching anime with cat, and spending time outdoors.

"We are so blessed to have Amaya join our Braves Softball Family," said head coach Maile Deutsch. "She has a hard work ethic and fits the culture and vision for the program exceptionally well.  Amaya's determination, grit, and passion are what caught our attention. These qualities will allow her the opportunity to keep developing here in Ottawa. We are excited to see what the future has in store for Amaya."

Truell is the daughter of Jenny Truell and plans to major in psychology.
