OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University softball program is pleased to announce the signing of Sara Smith for the 2025 season. She is from Eatonville, Wash. and attended Eatonville High School.
Smith earned 11 athletic letters at Eatonville High School, playing softball, basketball, and soccer. She helped EHS to a third-place finish at the state tournament in 2022. Smith earned All-League MVP honors on the softball diamond and participated in an All-Star Game on the basketball court. In Smith's senior season as a member of the Cruiser softball team, she batted .672.

Sara's work ethic, perseverance, and demeanor on the mound are qualities that align with our culture. She is a competitive ballplayer, and her strong bat will be a great addition to our lineup. We look forward to watching her success in our program."
Smith is the daughter of Jennifer and TJ Smith and plans to major in elementary education. She played travel ball for the Acers under head coach Jon Aarstad.
