SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team defeated John Brown University, 7-0, on Monday afternoon.

Almog Cohen and Ben Russell won their no. 3 doubles match 6-1 over Mason Cary and Andrew Aylor to give OU a 1-0 lead in the doubles point. Ottawa's no. 2 doubles team of Santiago Tartaglia and Julian Toloza defeated Spencer Keeter and Carson Thoma, 6-2, to take the doubles point, 2-0. Jarmo Perez Wienese and Jhoel Quinonez won their no. 1 doubles match, 6-2, over Negad Ezzat and Brady Dick.

Ottawa extended its lead to 2-0 with Perez Wienese's 6-3, 6-2 win in no. 2 singles over Keeter. Tartaglia won his no. 3 singles match over Dick 6-0, 6-3 to give OU a 3-0 lead. OU took the match with Quinonez's 6-4, 6-2 win in no. 1 singles with a victory over Ezzat, 4-0. Toloza defeated Thoma 6-2, 6-0 in no. 4 singles. Russell was victorious in his no. 5 singles match 0-6, 6-0, 10-3, with a win over Stark. Cohen defeated Hillock 6-2, 6-3 in no. 6 singles.

Ottawa (3-2) returns to the court on Friday, Feb. 23 against Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
