LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The #11 Ottawa women's wrestling team had a successful day at the Saint Mary Spire Open on Friday. 17 Braves placed in the top four at the Open in Leavenworth.
Shae Salinas and
Jazmin Haller both placed in the 117lb weight class, Salinas had 4-1 record to place second and Haller won three matches to earn third.
Emma Truex won the 131lb weight class after winning all four matches and
Addison Saporito placed fourth in the 131lb and won three matches.
In the 138lb weight class,
Livia Swift earned second place with a record of 4-1 and
Jordan Dempsey won two matches to place fourth.
Leilani Caamal won the 145lb weight class by going 3-1 and
Kaydence Bonewell secured fourth place by winning two matches.
Abigail Sebesta,
GiGi Jones and
Haley Flores all placed in the 160lb weight class. Sebesta earned second, Jones earned third and Flores secured fourth.
Kaylee Davis won the 180lb weight class by winning three matches.
Siara Arrington and
Ciera Hutton-Spieker also placed in the 180lb, Arrington was second and Hutton-Spieker was third.
Kena Leonard placed first overall in the 207lb weight class, Leonard won both of her matches.
Faith Spicer took home second place and Daija Anderson was third in the 207lb weight class.
